The National Asthma Council Australia (NAC) has announced the appointment of Mr Rob Farrier as the new Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) nominee director on the Board, replacing Dr Stephen Hughes.
Dr Hughes will remain on the NAC Board as an independent director.
Mr Farrier is a community pharmacist and PSA branch committee member working with National Pharmacies as an ethical buying manager. He brings a diverse understanding of the pharmacy industry with experience across medicine policy, pharmaceutical logistics and digital health. Mr Farrier’s leadership will be a welcomed addition to aid the continuous growth of the organisation.
Dr Hughes’ new role on the Board will be as an independent director with a focus on the public interest. His experience in community pharmacy and academia, coupled with his research insights into patient experience and behaviour, will be advantageous to the NAC to attain its strategic vision.
National Asthma Council Australia Board Chair Dr Joanna Wriedt and Chief Executive Officer Ms Siobhan Brophy welcomed Mr Farrier to the organisation and look forward to working with Dr Hughes in his new capacity as an independent director.
