Asthma and respiratory workshop education program for health professionals

Since 2002, the National Asthma Council has successfully delivered the Asthma Education Program.

Face-to-face workshops and webinars are run as single stand-alone sessions, held in conjunction with a host organisation and are available across Australia, reflecting our commitment to reach urban, regional and remote health professionals.

All presentation material is provided by the NAC to ensure the information is consistent, complete and up-to-date. Participant workbooks with up to date and extensive resource material is provided for face to face events.

Results from the 2018 to 2023 round of workshops and webinars indicate that the majority (>90%) of workshop survey respondents reported they ‘agreed’ or ‘strongly agreed’ the workshop was a good investment of time and 96% reported the presenters were seen as a source of knowledge and expertise in best practice management of asthma and linked respiratory conditions. The majority (>93%) ‘agreed’ or ‘strongly agreed’ that they would attend other NAC education workshops in the future.

Attending a workshop

Host organisations coordinate the scheduling and attendance of workshops and webinars.

Participants may be eligible for continuing professional development (CPD) hours from their professional association. See the relevant workshop section for more details.

Speak with your wider organisation or primary health network about the possibility of them hosting a workshop for your local health professionals.
